️ Notice: Satellite TV “Sun Outages” Expected (March 2026)
If you notice your satellite TV signal dropping out or “pixelating” in the mid-afternoons this week, don’t worry—it’s not your equipment!
We are currently entering the Autumn Solar Equinox period. This is a natural celestial event where the sun passes directly behind the satellites serving Australia (such as those used for Foxtel and VAST).
What to Expect (Perth & WA):
-
When: Between March 21st and March 28th, 2026.
-
Daily Timing: Most impacts occur in the afternoon, typically between 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM AWST.
-
Duration: Disruptions usually last between 5 to 15 minutes per day.
The Symptoms:
-
Brief “No Signal” messages on your screen.
-
Picture “blockiness” or pixelation.
-
Audio chirping or temporary sound loss.
Do I need to do anything?
No. Your signal will automatically return to full strength as soon as the sun moves slightly further across the sky. You do not need to book a technician or attempt to realign your dish.
Thank you for your patience during this “solar interference” window!
